Landlords sue feds over eviction moratorium, cite takings clause
The National Apartment Association sued the federal government recently alleging that the eviction moratorium amounted to a “taking” under the Fifth Amendment. The NAA claims that the moratorium, which the Supreme Court has declared unlawful is a taking that requires just compensation. It appears the NAA is seeking $26 billion in compensation from the federal government.
